If you go to start your Kit and the screen remains black the whole time, or you are met with a funky Rainbow colored screen, here are some troubleshooting tips that may help:
Black Screen:
If your screen is black and stays black, this usually means your screen is not getting power.
Step one:
Pull out your SD Card and turn on the kit. If you see the screen go from blue to black, this means your SD Card is corrupted. Follow this guide (Scroll down to the header titled, “Download and Install Piper SD Card Image”) on how to reflash your card and you should be up and on your way. If you are unable to flash your card, contact us at hi@playpiper.com to get this issue sorted out.
Step two:
If pulling the SD Card did not work, try plugging plugging your Piper into another display, such as a computer monitor or a TV. If this does not work, you either have a defective screen or your Harness Cable is not supplying power to your screen. Move to step three.
Step three:
If that does not work, you may have a power issue. Contact us at hi@playpiper.com and we will get it sorted out.
Rainbow screen:
While rainbows are pretty, it is usually not something you want to see on your screen. That is unless you are using the rainbow powerup to cast rainbows!
The most common cause for this issue is the SD Card being corrupted.
If you are seeing a rainbow screen, pull out your SD Card and turn on your kit. If it shows a blue and then black screen or No Signal, this means your SD Card is corrupted. Follow this guide (Scroll down to the header titled, “Download and Install Piper SD Card Image”) on how to reflash your card and you should be up and on your way. If you are unable to flash your card, contact us at hi@playpiper.com to get this issue sorted out.
